“Who is your pollie?” powered by AEC electoral boundaries and reverse geocoding of your address (note: this hasn’t been fully implemented).
“Is your pollie smarter than a 5th grader?” uses the digitised Hansard records (1996-present) to undergo lexicon analysis for each member to then provide the ability to track trends by member, electorate, state, party, sitting, parliament and bill in terms of speech complexity, buzzwords and the positivity/negativity of tone. We’d like to extend the “report card” to include truancy rates (not present for votes) and suspensions (removed from the House or Senate).
Still in the works due to data quality issues, we’ve got a mockup at 202.2.94.230 and a plan for updating hansard.euphemize.net over the coming weeks.

Nice! Is it online by any chance?

We’d definitely like to see it!
Also like to see if we could have the truancy rates added too

Hey guys,
Fantastic work over the weekend. Just to let you know access to the Ninefold services provisioned for you during Govhack will be yours to continue working on your project for the next 6 months. Please keep us up to date with your projects so we can keep the buzz going.
Regards,
Pete

Hi Peter,
thanks for that! We look forward to doing some more work on it (eg: a proposal for api.hansard.org.au could be a good next step too given the data quality in the current format is terrible to do anything with beyond opening as if it’s a word document).
Cheers,
Joel
