So many new ideas have been put forward for GovHack 2018 that we need to push back the date to squeeze them all in! The new date is 7-9 September 2018.
Hope this doesn’t cause any problems but if it does, let us know, and we will try and factor in ways that you can still be involved.
‘Ngā manaakitanga pai!’ – ‘Good luck’ New Zealand!
Our friends from across the ditch will be looking to launch a new hackathon in 2019 which will mean farewell, at least for now, to GovHack New Zealand. GovHack Australia wishes them the very best of luck, and hope that all of our community helps them with their plans for 2019.
Queensland legend Jason Weigel has joined the GovHack Board to provide added brain power to GovHack! Jason has been a lead organiser for GovHack in the maroon state and works at the University of Queensland.
And there’s more…
Well there could be. GovHack is looking to further expand the board in 2018 to bring together an super team of skills and diversity that represent the extraordinary GovHack community.
GovHack is yours so its critical the board represents you and your values. If you are interested in getting involved, email using the details at the end.
GovHack Data changes
This will seem a little odd for a group so interested in open data – but to date we’ve not been very good at sharing and analysing our own data. We now have plans to change that – and are happy to share that NSW Data Superstar Blair Hudson has put his hand up to lead the data debate across GovHack this year as we actively seek to audit and publish our data and play an active part in the Open data initiative.
